Progressed from the U17s and has previous experience with the U19s. Played as the back-up goalkeeper last season but put in some very good performances when called upon. Excellent shot-stopper.
Rebecca Spencer, Arsenal
DOB: 22/2/91
Outstanding shot-stopper and technically very good with her feet. Has progressed through the U17s and was involved in the U19s European Championship last summer. Played a key role in qualification in Lithuania, conceding no goals as England prevailed.
Defenders
Sophie Bradley, Leeds United
DOB: 20/10/89
Played a key role in the European Championship. Very strong in defence, has good pace and exceptional heading ability. Sophie has been very dominant on set-plays over the last season. Has great leadership skills and has demonstrated this as captain. Progressed from U17s and attends The FA National Player Development Centre.
Gemma Bonner, Leeds United
DOB: 13/7/91
Progressed from the U17 squad and is a current scholar at The FA National Player Development Centre. Gemma lead by example as captain in the U17s. A strong centre half who is very comfortable in possession and a very good passer of the ball.
Brooke Chaplen, Portsmouth
DOB: 16/4/89
New addition to the squad and current student at The FA National Player Development Centre. Brooke has established herself within the squad after her first opportunity in Lithuania.
Jayne Eadie, Blackburn Rovers
DOB: 15/3/89
In her second year at The FA National Player Development Centre. Third year in the U19s after stepping up from the U17 programme. Can play as centre-half and full-back. Has been a key team player for the last two years and is very experienced.
Georgie Giddings, Chelsea
DOB: 30/6/90
Played a key role at left back as England triumphed in Lithuania. Very good delivery and technical ability with her left foot. Georgie progressed through from the U17s and played a part in the U19 tournament in La Manga in March.
Midfielders
Toni Duggan, Everton
DOB: 25/7/91
Progressed from the U17s having impressed the coaches. Has adapted to the step up and has showed her ability and desire to perform at this level. One of the younger members of the squad.
Elizabeth Edwards, Chelsea
DOB: 23/6/89
Progressed from U17 where she was captain. Played her best football in the European Championship and was a key player in midfield. Scored a fantastic and crucial goal against Norway in the Semi-Final.
Michelle Hinnigan, Everton
DOB: 12/6/90
Progressed from the U17s and is a student at The FA National Player Development Centre. Technically very gifted, Michelle has the ability and vision to play through teams. Made a very good impression in Lithuania after making her U19 debut.
Sophie Walton, Leeds United
DOB: 7/11/89
Sophie has great game understanding for one so young, keeps the game very simple and is very effective. An integral player through last season and is now looking to establish herself this year. Brother Simon plays for QPR.
Chelsea Weston Birmingham City
DOB: 27/1/90
Progressed from the U17s and was part of the U19 squad which reached the Final of the European Championship. Worked hard to earn her place and put in some very mature performances with very little experience at this level.
Forwards
Remi Allen, Leicester City
DOB: 15/10/90
Another who stepped up from the U17s programme, Remi is very professional with an excellent workrate and positive attitude. Was rewarded with a late call for the European Championship and became a key player in all of the games played in Iceland. Had an exceptional tournament and made her full debut against France. A student at The FA National Player Development Centre.
Jessica Clarke, Leeds United
DOB: 5/5/89
Played a key role in the European Championship and had a very good tournament. Jess displayed great dribbling skills in major games and really showed her true potential against top level opposition. Progressed from U17s and attends The FA National Player Development Centre.
Gilly Flaherty, Arsenal
DOB: 24/8/91
Progressed from the U17s, Gilly is a very quick, strong defender. Good passer of the ball and is comfortable in possession, the Gunner has shown the ability to perform at this level and is trying to establish her place in the team. Has no international experience at U19 level but several caps at U17.
Faye McCoy, Liverpool
DOB: 5/1/90
Technically very gifted player who is competent with both feet, Faye has played in many positions at international level but is comfortable in the midfield. Progressed from the U17 team where she was very influential.
Claire Rafferty, Chelsea
DOB: 11/1/89
Progressed from the U17 programme and a student at The FA National Player Development Centre. Has a very good left foot and possesses the best delivery at this age group. Has the ability to go past players and can be a match-winner.
Ellen White, Chelsea
DOB: 9/8/89
Ellen has electric pace and is exceptional at pressurising the opposition. A very brave player who works hard off the ball, Ellen’s workrate creates many chances for her teammates. Finished joint top-scorer at the European Championship and earned herself a place in the prestigious U19 European Final XI.
