UEFA European U17 Women's Championship
First Qualifying Round, Georgia
27 October - 1 November

It's been a busy week for England's Women's sides so far and for Lois Fidler's U17s team, it's certainly been a productive one as they bid to reach the first ever U17s World Cup.

The inaugural FIFA Women's U17's World Cup is to be held in New Zealand in November 2008 and Fidler's side have made a convincing start to the first European qualifying phase in Georgia, netting 16 goals in their first two games.

First up on Saturday were Georgia, the hosts of the four team qualifying group, and Steph Marsh got the Three Lions off to a dream start, netting within the first 60 seconds of that game.

Before the tournament, Fidler told TheFA.com that with points at stake, she wanted to see how her players would deal with the added expectation and pressure and she needn't have worried too much if Saturday's performance was anything to go by, as her side fired in another twelve goals against the Georgians to complete a convincing 13-0 victory.

Jordan Nobbs bagged four goals, Rebecca Jane and Jessica Holbrook both netted braces, whilst Natalie Crinean, Demi Stokes, Rachael Pitman and Jemma Rose, from the penalty spot, all got on the scoresheet.

It was going to be a hard act to follow on Monday, with Slovakia the opponents, but England secured another three points from that game with a 3-1 victory.

Nobbs again set England off to a good start, slotting away a penalty in the fourth minute. She added a second on the half hour mark and Pitman added a third after 52 minutes, ahead of their final game against Russia on Thursday.

The draw for the Second Qualifying Round will take place on 11 December at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
