One of the more famous faces of the game after being involved in the last two England kit launches, Rachel has become a long-standing and valuable member of the England set-up.

Rachel has developed into a quality international player and her levels of fitness and sheer speed make her a constant attacking threat.

In the 2002 FA Women’s Cup Final, in front of 2.5 million BBC1 viewers, she scored a super free-kick to help Fulham beat Doncaster Belles 2-1 to lift The Cup.

She was Player of the Match in the 2003 FA Cup Final as Fulham beat Charlton Athletic 3-0 and also scored England’s winner against Australia in a 1-0 victory at Burnley in September 2003.

Rachel’s most recent goal came in the record 13-0 away victory against Hungary in October.

Having become the most capped player in the England squad against Norway in May, Rachel’s experience and mesmerising skills will be relied upon in the World Cup Qualifying campaign, and after joining Arsenal in the Summer from Birmingham City, she will have been buoyed by being voted as the 2005 Nationwide International Player of the Year.

Following a series of fine displays in Women's Euro 2005, Rachel had a short spell in the summer to the USA to help New Jersey Wildcats' push for the title in the final month of the season. Having successfully achieved that goal, Rachel was duly named in the league's Team of the Season.

The end of 2005 saw Rachel handed another prestigious award as she received an MBE in the Queen's New Year honours list.
