New Arsenal signing Karen Carney is gunning for World Cup glory as England women's team stand two games away from reaching the finals.

Carney hopes a regular place in the Arsenal line-up will keep her in Hope Powell's starting line up as they aim for China next year.

Powell's side stand two wins away from the World Cup.

A win against Holland next month will set up a winner takes all game with France to decide who goes to China.

"We have to play Holland who we only beat 1-0 last time and that was a penalty." Carney said.

"Our first intention will be to win the Holland game and obviously then the France game becomes the big one.

"And then if we can avoid losing that game, we will be on our way to the World Cup.

"The good thing for us is that everyone will be fresh after the summer and ready to go.

"We have had the experience from the European Championship games so we have to use that experience to help us.

"Hopefully we can go on and make it to the World Cup."
