My club side Charlton had a good win at the weekend against Bristol Rovers. We eventually won 3-1 but it was tough. It wasn’t a great performance from us but we grinded out a result which we needed to do and showed that we could come back after going a goal down.

Eniola Aluko got two late goals which keeps us in with a chance of winning the FA Nationwide Women’s Premier League and she has scored some important goals for us this season. She is a great player and the goals she has scored this season have given her confidence.

We are now a point behind Arsenal but they have two games to play to our one. We still have to play them though so it could go down to the wire. We are really looking forward to the game against them which has been planned for Sunday 24 April. The game will be good for us as we have such a tough game against Everton the following week in the FA Women’s Cup Final.

I don’t have a game this weekend for Charlton but I am meeting up with the England squad on Sunday. I am looking forward to it, it’s another England game and hopefully we can put on another good performance. Lately things have gone really well for England, results have been good and we are all just counting down to the Women’s Euro 2005 tournament in June.

We are playing the Auld enemy next Thursday in a friendly at Prenton Park, Tranmere. We beat them the last time we played but we won’t be taking them for granted as they are a physical side.

The game will be live on Sky Sports and we need to put on a good show to get people interested in watching the women’s game as we build up to the Women’s Euros.

Watching England lately, though, has been exciting. We have been criticised in the past for not scoring enough goals but I think we are proving now that we have got good goal scorers in the team and we can score. You never know, even I might get a goal, it’s been a while!! I have scored a few for Charlton this season so hopefully the England goals are coming.

It was really manic for me last month with the Algarve Cup but the start to this month has been a lot quieter. It has been nice to have a break but it has been a long break and we could have done with games as we have got the FA Women’s Cup final coming up.

I have still been training hard with Charlton but I will appreciate the games coming up and don’t want any more breaks. I was busy last weekend though as it was my son Harvey’s second birthday so it was a bit hectic.

All the big games are getting closer now so it is a very exciting time. The FA Cup final is just a few weeks away and a month after that the Women’s Euros start. I can’t wait and I’m sure you can’t.

Speak to you all soon.
