There were goals, goals and more goals in The FA Vase Second Round with a number of sides registering big wins on their way to the third round.
While teams took to the field in grey and blustery conditions, a number of performances lit up an otherwise cold and gloomy day across the country.
One of those teams to produce a dazzling performance was Merstham FC, who cruised into the Third Round after a superb 7-1 away win at Christchurch. Kwabena Agyei and Rhod Davis both scored twice, while Craig Vernon, Kevin Lock and David Smith also got their names on the scoresheet for the visitors.
Elsewhere, Needham Market recorded an impressive 4-1 home win over Eton Manor to clinch their place in the next round of the competition.
James Evans put the home side ahead after neat link-up play with Ben Cranfield, before the visitors were reduced to ten men after goalkeeper Andy Hall was dismissed for bringing down Danny Thrower.
But despite losing a man, Eton Manor continued to battle and drew level shortly after as Chris Barrett's rasping strike left home stopper Liam Jones with no chance.
But with the clock ticking down towards the break, the home side piled on the pressure and were rewarded when Craig Parker collected Cranfield's header before firing past goalkeeper Kenny Addi.
Craig Parker and Richard Butler added further goals after the break as Market made the most of their extra man - while things went from bad to worse for the visitors as Anton Stephenson received his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
Whitley Bay cruised to victory at Hebburn Town thanks to some deadly finishing from midfield dynamo Paul Robinson.
Robinson scored twice to put the visitors in control, beforer further goals from Paul Chow and Lee Kerr sealed the win.
AFC Totton crashed out of the competition after a shock 1-0 home defeat by VCD Athletic FC. Totton, who lost out to Truro City in last season's final, had been tipped to make the latter stages of the competition but failed to shine against a determined Athletic side.
Elsewhere, there were big wins for Stanway Rovers and Studley FC, while Salford City and and Harefield United both hit five on their way to victory.
