Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish faces the mouth-watering prospect of a personal Wembley double this season - one as a manager, one as a fan.

Wembley awaits for Daish's Ebbsfleet as they take a 3-1 lead into the second leg of their FA Trophy Semi-Final against Aldershot, and with his boyhood team Portsmouth on the verge of their own final in The FA Cup, 2008 could prove to be a very special year for the former Republic Of Ireland international.

"It would be absolutely unbelievable." said Daish, who made his professional debut for Pompey back in 1988.

"But I can't start thinking about that just yet. It would be something I'd certainly enjoy though."

Daish admits Ebbsfleet are far from home and dry as they take on Aldershot at the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

"We can't just go there, sit back and hope to get a result," he added.

"We want to go there and score a goal because that will make life doubly difficult for Aldershot."

Daish will be looking to former Crystal Palace keeper and England C international Lance Cronin to keep up his excellent recent form.

"He's had a great season, as have all the back four. The personnel have changed at times but whoever's played has formed a solid back five to give us the platform to go forward and score goals."

Runaway Conference leaders Aldershot went into the first leg as strong favourites but their manager, Gary Waddock, admits the shock 3-1 scoreline was a fair reflection of the game.

"It was a fair result on the day," Waddock conceded. "Ebbsfleet played extremely well and thoroughly deserved their win.

"But it's not over yet. We've got another bite at the cherry and we're looking forward to getting out there and giving it a right go."

Aldershot can take heart from a 2-0 victory over Ebbsfleet earlier in the season and Waddock says that despite the two-goal deficit he will not be lured into trying to force the game too early.

"We'll be taking a more measured approach. If we go all hell for leather early on, we'll leave ourselves vulnerable to conceding a goal."
