Grays Athletic, still on course for a hat-trick of FA Trophy wins, were handed an away tie in today's Second Round draw at Soho Square.

They knocked out fancied Weymouth, eight places above them in the Conference, at Wessex Stadium on Saturday and now face Weston Super Mare from the Conference South at Woodspring Stadium on 13 January.

There were First Round shocks galore on an afternoon when nine Conference sides had their dreams of Trophy success ended for another season.

AFC Wimbledon's 2-1 win at Aldershot has earned them a trip to Gravesend & Northfleet, with another giantkilling in prospect, and Histon's thumping 5-0 victory over neighbours Cambridge United takes them to Newport County. Those two First Round matches attracted nearly five and half thousand fans between them.

Yeading, currently 15th in the Conference South, will be remembered for a great FA Cup run two seasons ago when they took on Premiership Newcastle in the Third Round.

They lifted the Vase too, in 1990, but haven't progressed beyond the Second Round Proper in the Trophy. If the 'Ding do manage it this time - and winning at Forest Green Rovers will boost their confidence to do just that - they'll have to beat Bishop's Stortford at the Warren.

Jim Smith's Oxford United, the Conference pacesetters, are still in the Trophy after a tricky tie at Lewes on Saturday that finished 0-0 and Wednesday night's replay winners will host Halifax Town in the New Year.
