Leon Simpson's solitary goal was enough to book Lebeq Tavern Courage's place in The FA Sunday Cup Final.
That strike saw off the challenge of Barry's FC and ensured it would be Lebeq who travel to Anfield next month to take on Coundon Conservative Club for the right to call themselves the best Sunday side in the country.
But that narrow win took its toll on the nerves of the Lebeq players, officials and supporters, with club secretary George Philipou admitting he found the closing moments particularly hard to watch.
"The last five or ten minutes were very nervy. The boys had given it their all and were running out of steam," Philipou said.
"Barry were a very physical and well-organised team. But we've played with confidence all season and we've got great team spirit which is what won the day for us in the end.
"We celebrated for a couple of hours in the stadium, then went back to Bristol. The local pub has a 24-hour licence so most of us only left there at 5 or 6am on Monday morning! Everyone was ringing up, asking how we had done.
"We're happy to be in The Final but we don't just want to be at Anfield, we want to win it. We've won everything in Bristol, but this cup has always eluded us."
