The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON
Player of the Round 2007-08
Sixth Round Proper

Kayode Odejayi, Barnsley's Cup hero against the holders Chelsea, has been voted 'Player of the Round' after his goal caused a sensational upset at Oakwell and put the Tykes in the Semi-Finals.

After knocking out Liverpool at Anfield, Barnsley took on Chelsea and amazingly were able to repeat their giant-killing heroics once more to make it into the last four.

Odejayi, who had not scored since September, rose highest in the penalty area to head home Martin Devaney’s cross and send the Yorkshire club to Wembley.

Odejayi will now be guaranteed a place at the Final as part of his prize, after fans on TheFA.com voted him the 'Player of the Round' ahead of Ishmael Miller of West Brom, team-mate Brian Howard, Glen Johnson and Peter Whittingham.

The FA Cup Player of the Round award, sponsored by E.ON, is presented to the outstanding player at each stage of competition, starting from the First Qualifying Round all the way to the Semi-Final.

Player of the Round winners will receive VIP hospitality for themselves and their guest at The FA Cup Final on Saturday 17 May 2008.

The winner of each award will be presented with a trophy along with a kit bag of training equipment which he can donate to a local school of his choice.
