The FA Cup Fourth Round Proper
3pm, Saturday 28 January 2006
Winning clubs will receive £60,000

The draw for this season's FA Cup Fourth Round Proper was made at Soho Square earlier this afternoon. The draw was compered by Sir Trevor Brooking, The FA's Director of Football Development, and the balls were drawn out by Steve Perryman (home teams) and Frank Stapleton (away teams).

The 16 ties include nine for which both teams are known. The other seven will be established after Third Round replays on the 17th and 18th of this month. Arsenal, the Cup holders after beating Manchester United on penalties in Cardiff last May, go to Bolton Wanderers.

The Londoners have recently found Sam Allardyce's side a difficult proposition at the Reebok in the Premiership and Bolton, then a division lower, won a Fourth Round replay at Highbury in 1994.

A rival for tie of the round is Portsmouth v Liverpool at Fratton Park. The Merseysiders looked to be out of The Cup when Kevin Nicholls slotted home a penalty to put Luton 3-1 up in the 53rd minute of Saturday's enthralling Third Round tie but then made a comeback of Istanbul proportions to triumph 5-3.

Their Fourth Round tie will revive memories of a semi-final replay that was settled on penalties in Liverpool's favour at Villa Park in 1992. Manchester United, with a record 11 FA Cups, will travel to Glenn Hoddle's Wolves if they beat Conference Burton Albion in next week's replay at Old Trafford.

Chelsea needed a Eidur Gudjohnsen goal eight minutes from time to end the resistance of League One Huddersfield at the weekend and they have an away tie at the winners of the Everton v Millwall replay.

The Blues haven't played at Goodison in The Cup since the 1950s. Leyton Orient, pushing for promotion from League Two, caused a major upset yesterday with their 2-1 win at Premiership Fulham.

Their reward is another away tie at a Premiership club in London! Now they face Charlton, a team they last played in The Cup in 1982, winning 1-0 at Brisbane Road with Ian Moores' goal.
