Millwall are through to the Sixth Round of The FA Cup for the first time since 1985 after a single goal from Danny Dichio was enough to see off the challenge of Burnley.
The visitors got off to a good start and had Richard Chaplow been a bit more fortunate then they could have taken a second minute lead after he met Glen Little's well-directed cross with a header.
Woken from their lethargy, Millwall started to come into the game and they quickly created chances for both Ifill and Lawrence, neither of whom could beat Jensen.
Millwall continued to attack and midway through the first-half Dichio met Kevin Muscat's cross but could only head the ball over. Moments later, player-manager Dennis Wise hit a free-kick which was nearly deflected into his own goal by David May.
There was another chance just before the interval when Neil Harris connected well with a right-footed volley that, for a moment at least, had Jensen worried.
Try as they might, Burnley couldn't shake off the Londoners' control of the match and the Lions created more chances in the first twenty minutes of the second period.
First Lawrence rose up to flick another header towards goal, this time bringing a good save out of Gueret.
Ifill was the next Millwall player to try his luck - the goalscorer from Wednesday's match against Telford nearly did it again when he dribbled past three players before hitting a powerful shot onto the crossbar.
Finally, with twenty minutes left, Millwall took the lead. Muscat again provided a good cross towards Dichio and the 29-year-old forward used all his experience to head confidently past Jensen.
When Burnley's substitute Weller was shown a red card having been on the pitch for a mere eight minutes, the Clarets' hopes looked to have disappeared.
But even after Kevin Braniff and Peter Sweeney had squandered chances to make the game safe, Burnley could have grabbed a replay in the very last minute but Little couldn't finish.
Millwall survived that scare and held on to book their place in the hat for Monday's Sixth Round draw.
