Hampshire FA have appointed Balvinder Shekhon as the new manager for their U16 and U18 teams.

Balvinder, who is also a full-time FA Skills Coach and holds a Level Three Coaching Qualification, was previously the manager of the U18 team in the highly successful youth set-up at Aylesbury United FC, who had a number of impressive performances in The FA Youth Cup.

This new position will now see Balvinder switch his attention to another FA competition - The FA County Youth Cup - which his new U18 side will compete in next season.

"My overall aim is to raise the playing standard within the squads and combine good football with winning trophies. I’m really looking forward to the trials and will be looking for players to demonstrate ability, commitment and pride in representing Hampshire," said Balvinder.

Neil Cassar, Chief Executive of the Hampshire FA said: "We are delighted with Balvinder’s appointment and look forward to working with him in his new role. Balvinder is looking to implement a coaching and scouting framework to select the best players to represent the County and build on the successes of the previous manager, Bill Caine."

Further information on acquiring a trial for Hampshire's U16 or U18 sides can be found from the Hampshire FA website.

The FA County Youth Cup kicks-off on 19 October when current holders, Suffolk, will begin the defence of their crown.
