FA County Youth Cup holders West Riding defeated Cheshire in a pulsating game with a last-minute penalty deciding the tie, and sending John Riordan's side into the last 16.

Cheshire opened the scoring after 24 minutes with a superbly worked goal. Bailey, Reilly and Lillie combined well down the right, and Lillie delivered a fine cross which was met by Josh Hancock, sending his header into the roof of the net.

In the 75th minute, following a free kick on the right, there was a scramble inside the penalty area, and Edwards poked a shot at goal for the equaliser.

In stoppage time a penalty was awarded for a trip in the area and Paddy Miller stepped up to send the holders through, though it was harsh on Cheshire to lose in such cruel fashion.

Middlesex comprehensively beat their Berks and Bucks counterparts 5 - 0 to progress into the Third Round.

The Middlesex boys made a bright start to the game and created one or two early chances before making the breakthrough with an opening goal in the 12th minute from a Max Mitchell free kick.

In the 17th minute goalkeeper Matt Faley was on hand to make a fine save from a Berks and Bucks penalty to keep Middlesex in front. The lead remained until three minutes before the interval, when a second goal for the home side was scored by Luke Marshall.

Berks and Bucks made a couple of changes at the break and started the second half brightly, but were unable to get on the scoresheet. Middlesex themselves made changes and in the 75th minute a goal from Jack Bennett put the game beyond their visitors. Two late goals from substitute Lyle Taylor wrapped things up on 89 minutes and in stoppage time.

A brace from Simon Dumelow on his debut and one from Josh Orhiunu gave Birmingham a comfortable passage to the next stage of the FA County Youth Cup as they overcame East Riding.

With the game only ten minutes old, Dumelow picked the ball up in midfield and found Dion Barrett who surged forward and sent in a cross. The Coleshill Town youngster made an unmarked run into the box and scored from 12 yards.

On the hour mark Birmingham got another goal, with skipper Murrall finding the impressive Dumelow whose clever lob allowed Orhiunu to beat the home keeper Holden with a powerful drive.

The victory was sealed two minutes later when Barrett won another tackle and slid the ball into the space for Dumelow to score his second on an impressive debut.

Nottinghamshire were knocked out of the competition by a resourceful Lincolnshire side, who made the breakthrough ten minutes into the second half when defensive errors saw the ball given away and a fierce cross-shot find the back of the net.

Lincolnshire made it two as the result of another poor defensive header and added to their lead following a goalkeeping error, to clinch a home game in the Third Round against Liverpool.
