Michael Appleton hopes Blackburn Rovers can earn the ‘massive reward’ on offer from Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Millwall.

The Blues boss masterminded a stunning win over Arsenal in the Fifth Round and they now face their Championship for a place in the Semi-Final.

And former Portsmouth and Blackpool chief Appleton is well aware of the importance that the game holds, with both teams suffering from poor league form in recent weeks.

He said: "I can't think of a better opportunity that the players will get to try and get into the Semi-Final of The FA Cup at Wembley.

"For the team that wins the game, there are massive rewards regardless of whether it's a Semi-Final.

"For the losing team, it's going to be a massive disappointment and will make it very very difficult for the games that you have after that.”
