Gary Cahill is eyeing up an FA Cup Final appearance this season as Chelsea close in on the Semi-Final.

The England defender was injured for last year’s Final as the Blues beat Liverpool to seal their fourth Cup in the last six years.

But the former Bolton and Aston Villa star still remembers the journey, after moving to Stamford Bridge in January 2012 and playing a part in their road to Wembley.

He said: "It's an amazing ride to The Final and if you do get there, it's great memories so I'd love to do it again.

"Last year was the first Final that I could've been invovled in, so it was a massive blow that I missed it.

"So for myself, it would be lovely if I could play in another one at some stage and I hope that it comes around sooner rather than later.”

Chelsea face a tough test in Sunday’s quarter final though, with Manchester United lying in wait for them at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will be keen to put this week’s Champions League exit behind them and will see The FA Cup as a real target.

And Cahill knows that it’s not going to be easy for Rafa Benitez’s side, who took their place in the Sixth Round after a 2-0 win at Middlesbrough last week.

He added: "It's going to be difficult, I have no doubt about that, but it's a challenge that we need to rise to and go as far as we possibly can.

"The FA Cup is something that this club has been successful in over the last few years.

"Away from home at United, it's going to be tough and for sure, there could have been a lot easier draws for us.”
