Phil Jones believes Manchester United can show their character and bounce back from Premier League disappointment in The FA Cup.

United were hit by an injury time equaliser in Sunday’s game at Tottenham, but have a chance to get back to winning ways at the weekend.

Fulham are the visitors to Old Trafford in the Fourth Round on Saturday and England star Jones is looking forward to the tie.

And with United still sitting five points clear of their rivals in the league table, he hopes that confidence can be taken into The Cup.

He said: "The FA Cup is a great competition and one we want to win.

“We want to go as far as we can - it's a competition I've always admired.

"Hopefully we can get the result we want and continue to progress in the competition.

"Confidence is high but we know we still have to produce and do our job every time we step out on the pitch.

"As long as we're focused on what we've got to do and on our game-plan, hopefully we'll be okay."

The 20-year-old and his Old Trafford team-mates are currently in Qatar for a warm-weather training camp.

After a busy schedule over Christmas and New Year and with the last third of the season in sight, Jones believes the Qatar trip has come at the right time.

"The Christmas period is always tough with a lot of games in a short space of time, but now we're getting towards the nitty-gritty part of the season,” he added.

"It's the time when you need to be fully aware of what you've got to do and go out and do it.

"We all relish the challenge - everyone in the squad is very focused and committed and we're all ready for the next game."
