Frank Lampard has spoken of his love for The FA Cup, ahead of Chelsea's short trip to face Brentford on Sunday.

The Blues take on their west London neighbours in the Fourth Round and Lampard admits he still loves the atmosphere of The FA Cup throughout all of the rounds.

With four FA Cup medals to his name, the road to Wembley is certainly familiar to Lampard but he knows that nothing can be taken for granted in the earlier stages.

And with local pride at stake and a confident Brentford riding high in League One, he expects a thorough test at Griffin Park.

Speaking exclusively to FATV, he said: "Any particular game away is tough, especially when you come up against lower league opposition.

"They always make it tough and it's a massive game for them so we'll have to put in a performance on the day.

"For the Brentford fans, it would be a huge thing for them to take us on, their neighbours, so it all adds that extra bit of spice to the game."

Despite a glittering career that has seen Lampard feature in World Cups and European Championship Finals with England and Champions League Finals with Chelsea, the 34-year-old still relishes Cup ties such as this.

The Blues have previously played their reserve and youth team fixtures at Griffin Park but the two clubs haven't met each other at competitive level since 1950.

And Romford-born Lampard admits he still gets a buzz out of classic Cup ties such as this one.

"I've been lucky enough to play in huge stadiums around the world, but I don't forget my roots and where I've come from," he added.

"Playing with West Ham's youth and reserve teams at these sort of stadiums and in FA Cup games with Chelsea, there's always a special feel to them.

"With the tight changing rooms, the atmosphere of the crowd and a possible giant-killing.

"I certainly enjoy that challenge."
