Last night's Old Trafford crowd of 75,213 saw Manchester United seal their place in the Sixth Round with a 2-1 win over Reading and send the Fifth Round average attendance sky rocketing to 32,566.
Only 1980 can boast a better figure than this season with an average of 36,403.
Over 60,000 fans watched Blackburn Rovers stun Arsenal at the Emirates while there was a near capacity crowd of 46,849 at Manchester City who chalked up a 4-0 win against Leeds United.
The Championship side took over 7,000 supporters for their trip to the Etihad.
The weekend’s Fifth Round ties also included near capacity crowds at non-League Luton Town and League One Oldham Athletic with both just missing out on crowds of 10,000.
The Fifth Round proper concludes on Wednesday 27 February when Middlesbrough host Chelsea at the Riverside.
Everton and Oldham Athletic must replay at Goodison Park after their 2-2 draw on Saturday.
