The FA Cup with Budweiser
Preliminary Round replays
Round-up
New Mills have progressed in The FA Cup with Budweiser following a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Mickleover Sports in the Preliminary Round.
The two sides could not be separated during the initial tie and it proved to be another close affair during the replay.
The game had finished 1-1 during normal time and neither side could manage to score the crucial winner in extra-time.
The tie went to penalties and the New Mills players kept their nerve to record a 6-5 victory which sets up a tie against Retford United at Cannon Park on Saturday afternoon.
Elsewhere in the Preliminary Round, Abbey Hey edged through with a 2-1 win away at Sheffield. That was the same scoreline with which Bishop's Cleeve beat Ascot United 2-1 on Tuesday night.
The home side established a two-goal lead and then defended well against Ascot, who did score an injury-time consolation through Luke Wilson.
Bishop's Cleeve will now face Bracknell Town in Saturday's First Round Qualifying.
