Connor Witherspoon held his nerve from 12 yards to fire Brentwood Town into The FA Cup Third Round Qualifying.
After Saturday's 1-1 draw with their Essex rivals Maldon & Tiptree, the replay ended on Tuesday in the same score line after extra time. The tie went down to the drama of a penalty shoot-out.
But again there was little to choose between the sides with the scores locked at 8-8 after 21 players tried their luck from the spot.
However, the final man to step up, Witherspoon, made no mistake, securing a 9-8 shoot-out victory - and sending Brentwood into the next round. They will now face South Park, who were comfortable winners in their replay, thrashing Harefield United 4-1.
Elsewhere, Omar Bogle's last-gasp strike provided Solihull Moors a dramatic victory on a busy evening of replays in The FA Cup.
Ten-man Moors had to dig deep to earn a second chance after hitting a second-half equaliser against Westfields in the weekend's initial game.
Another 1-1 draw looked on the cards after Michael Blackwood's opener was cancelled out by Westfields in the second half.
And Extra-time was looming large when Solihull finally settled the tie thanks to Bogle, who struck from close range with less than two minutes remaining.
The goal by former Birmingham and Celtic starlet Bogle, who signed in the summer, sealed Marcus Bignot's side a place in the next stage, where they will meet AFC Fylde.
Ilkeston were also winners on Tuesday night, cruising into the next round 5-1 at Belper Town.
Belper managed to hold their opponents to a 2-2 draw in the first contest but were powerless to stop Ilkeston running riot in the replay.
Ilkeston's reward is a home tie with Gresley in Third Round Qualifying on 6 October.
Meanwhile the ties between Workington AFC and Blyth Spartans plus Harrogate Town vs West Auckland Town were both postponed due to the weather. The will be played next Monday and Tuesday respectively.
