Metropolitan Police manager Jim Cooper believes his team will progress to The FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying stage, thanks to home advantage.

The Isthmian Premier League side drew 1-1 with Dereham Town on Saturday to set up a replay at Imber Court on Wednesday night.

Dereham defied the odds against a side two leagues above them to claim an impressive draw.

"The home advantage should do it for us. We didn't perform well due to the long journey to Norfolk. We will look to utilise our pitch," said Cooper.

"We need to approach the game in a professional manner. We were up against tough opposition, even though they are two leagues below us."

The Met Police will face local rivals South Park if they make it through to the next round of the competition.

Cooper said on the possible tie: "We are not thinking about South Park. We lost 7-1 against them in pre-season. It wouldn't be far to travel if we did make it through."

Manager Cooper said his side will have to watch out for Dereham's Shaun Bammant - who came off the bench to grab his side an all-important equaliser in the original tie.

He added: "All of Dereham's players were hard-working. Their goalscorer made a big difference when he came on and I'm sure he will be a threat again on Wednesday night."
