Chelmsford City set up an epic Essex derby in The FA Cup First Round Proper after an eight-goal thriller at East Thurrock United was settled on penalties.

After a 2-2 draw on Saturday, the replay on Tuesday ended 4-4 after extra-time, but the Clarets nicked it 5-3 on penalty kicks.

Anthony Cooke netted the decisive spot-kick at Rookery Hill to line up a First Round Proper meeting with League One Colchester United.

And Clarets boss Glenn Pennyfather can't wait for the 'historic day' on Saturday 3 November: "It'll be a fantastic day for Essex," he said.

"They're the closest Football League club to us and it'll really capture the imagination of the locals - Melbourne will be packed out.

"We'll need to be at our best, and Colchester will need to be off colour, but it'll be our cup final and a historic day for the club."

Lincoln City also earned their place in the First Round Proper after a 2-0 win over FC Halifax Town.

The two sides drew at the weekend, when The Imps had home advantage, but they did better with their second attempt on their travels.

City took the lead after eleven minutes when Jake Sheridan headed an Adam Smith cross past Halifax keeper Matt Glennon.

And, after the interval, the win was secured when Jamie Taylor received a cross from Mamadou Fofana and rifled in his sixth goal of the season.

Lincoln, along with all Fourth Round Qualifying winners, collected £12,500 from The FA's prize fund for the victory. They now look forward to a home tie against League One side Walsall.

Elsewhere, in their Fourth Qualifying Round replay, Nuneaton Town beat AFC Telford United 1-0.

Dartford and Forest Green Rovers drew 1-1 on Saturday but the scoreline was very different second time round with Rovers winning 4-1.

Yan Klukowski was punctual with his finishing; scoring after thirty minutes and again on the hour mark.

Matt Taylor then grabbed a third for his side from close range after Dartford failed to clear a Rovers attack.

And in injury time, Brazilian substitute Magno Vieira was on hand to complete the scoring.

Meanwhile, Yate Town beat Newport County 3-1 and Slough Town beat Gosport Borough 2-1.
