Everton had to come from behind to book their place in the draw for the Fifth Round of The FA Cup with before Marouane Fellaini headed in the winning goal at Goodison Park.
The five-time FA Cup winners looked in trouble when Fulham captain Danny Murphy scored from a 14th-minute penalty following a Johnny Heitinga handball.
Everton did not look too happy with that decision and showed it in the determination of their play, almost equalising soon after through a Shane Duffy header.
Everton remained an aerial threat through Tim Cahill, who then had an effort well saved by David Stockdale
But the promising England keeper could do nothing to stop Denis Stracqualursi from getting on to the end of a Landon Donovan cross to head in the equaliser in the 27th minute.
Fulham were still in the game, though ,and Clint Dempsey went close to restoring their lead soon after half-time.
But Everton had more momentum and Stockdale did well to deny Stracqualursi a second goal before Fellaini, again with a header, converted Landon Donovan’s free-kick with 27 minutes to go.
Cahill could even have made it three for David Moyes’ side but his late effort struck the cross bar.
