Wembley's FA Cup dreams are over after they were thumped 5-0 by local rivals Uxbridge in Wednesday's Preliminary Round replay.

Matty Woods scored a superb hat-trick and Nicke Kabamba bagged a brace, as Ian Bates' side were put to the sword, with coach Martin Keown helpless from the sidelines.

Wembley’s squad this season has boasted the likes of former Arsenal duo Ray Parlour and Martin Keown, as well as Chelsea great Graeme Le Saux, ex-Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu and one-time Argentina star Claudio Caniggia.

But Uxbridge refused to be star-struck and started brighter, hitting the bar in the third minute when Kabamba connected with a cross from Kevin Warner.

Kabamba hit the woodwork again seconds before the break, this time crashing a shot against the post as the interval arrived with the match still goalless.

Uxbridge made a well-deserved breakthrough on 55 minutes when Woods raced onto an Andrew Capewell through ball and beat Wembley goalkeeper Lee Pearce with ease.

Eight minutes later he had another - taking advantage of a poor back-pass to double the lead.

And the game was all but over in the 85th minute when the striker notched his third to kill-off Wembley’s Cup hopes.

Kabamba piled more misery on with a solo effort in injury time and then put the gloss on a fine victory seconds before the end as he outstripped the home defence to fire home.

It was the end of a Wembley dream for Wembley but perhaps the start of something special for their near neighbours, who will face Berkhamsted in the next round.
