FA Competitions Application 2013-14
Details for The FA Cup, Trophy, Vase and Youth Cup.
Entry Requirements
The FA Cup
Clubs to be automatically accepted subject to the ground conforming to the minimum standard:-
- Clubs in The FA Premier League, The Football League and in Steps 1, 2, 3 & 4 of The FA National League System.
- Clubs in Step 5 of The FA National League System.
- Clubs relegated to Step 6 of The FA National League System.
- Clubs in Step 6 of The FA National League System finishing in a League position 1-4 of the preceding season.
Clubs to be accepted subject to available places and subject to the ground conforming to the minimum standard:-
- Clubs playing in Step 6 of The FA National League System finishing in a League position below 4 of the preceding season.
New entries
- Clubs must have participated in The Trophy or Vase in Season 2012-13.
The FA Trophy
- Entry is restricted to Clubs competing in Steps 1-4 of The FA National League System. Clubs moving to and from Step 4 will automatically be moved between The Trophy and Vase competitions accordingly.
The FA Vase
Entry is restricted to Clubs competing in Steps 5-7 of The FA National League System subject to the ground conforming to the minimum standard.
The FA Youth Cup
Clubs to be accepted subject to the ground conforming to the minimum standard:-
- Clubs that participated in The FA Cup, Trophy or Vase in Season 2012-13 and also participating in one of these competitions in Season 2013-2014.
- Clubs that participated in a recognised Youth League/Academy or Competition in Season 2012-13 sanctioned by The Association or an affiliated Association as determined by The Association from time to time and also participating in one of these in Season 2013-14.
- Youth Teams representing a Senior Club must be properly integrated within the main structure of the Senior Club.
Ground Standards
The FA Cup
Clubs must have a ground grade which conforms to a “G” grade (appropriate to Step 6) or higher as at 31 March of the preceding season. The minimum grade will be raised to “F” grade (appropriate to Step 5) for season 2015-2016.
The FA Vase
Clubs must have a ground grade which conforms to a “H” grade (appropriate to entry to Step 6) or higher as at 31 March of the preceding season.

Clubs currently below Step 6 of The FA NLS MUST download and complete the ‘H’ Grade Questionnaire, unless this has already been submitted as part of a promotion application. Please click here to access the questionnaire.
This must be completed and returned by email to competition.entries@TheFA.com by 31 March 2013. The club completing the questionnaire must also send a copy to its current league who will verify to The FA that the ground complies with the grade H criteria.
Clubs with grounds not conforming to the minimum standards will not be permitted entry by nominating an alternative ground for home ties in FA Competitions.

FA Sunday Cup & FA Women’s Cup Applications 2013-14
Entry Requirements
The FA Sunday Cup
- Participation in the competition shall only be open to club’s competing in the higher Divisions of a league for season 2013-2014 sanctioned by The Association or an affiliated Association.
- Clubs must have a ground which conforms to the minimum standard, which must be the ground used for all home ties in The FA Sunday Cup. Under no circumstances should another venue be used without prior permission of The Football Association.
The FA Women’s Cup
- Participation in the competition shall only be open to club’s competing in the top division of a County League, or above, sanctioned by The Association or an affiliated Association, for season 2013-2014 and that also competed in an open age League or competition sanctioned by The FA or affiliated Association in season 2012-2013.
- Clubs must have a ground which conforms to the minimum standard, which must be the ground used for all home ties in The FA Women’s Cup. Under no circumstances should another venue be used without prior permission of The Football Association.
