The FA Tesco Women's Premier League Cup

Glory hunters

Faye White will lead Arsenal into The FA Premier League Cup Final.

Faye White will lead Arenal into The FA Women's Premier League Cup Final against Doncaster eager to erase the memory of their defeat to Everton at the same stage last season.

A seventh-minute goal from Amy Kane was enough to give Everton victory at Brisbane Road, but White believes that defeat has simply galvanised the Gunners and lent them a dogged attitude in their pursuit of success in the competition this season.

"Nobody likes to lose a Cup Final," White explained, "but we had a bad night and it was a bad result. However, that defeat has just made us even more determined this year.

"Sometimes you have to experience defeat to make you think," she continued. "You get used to winning things and you have a winning mentality. When you get beaten, it’s not a nice feeling - but that’s football.

"The feeling of losing stays with you a lot longer than the feeling of winning and that’s what drives you on."

Arsenal avenged that Final defeat by beating the Toffees in the Third Round and with John Buckley's rejuvenated Doncaster waiting for them in The Final, White knows the north London outfit could be in for a difficult night.

"We want to be the holders of this trophy, but it won’t be easy because Doncaster have got some really good players and are doing well in the League," she admitted. "It’s a one-off game and you never know."
