Whitley Bay cruised through to The FA Cup Third Qualifying Round with a thrilling 10-2 victory at Birtley Town. Despite falling two goals behind within the opening 15 minutes, Whitley's comeback started in the 35th minute when Kirsty Hunter pulled one back.

Julie Twaddle then equalised five minutes later before putting the away side in front on the stroke of half-time. After the break, Whitley took control with Twaddle completing her hat-trick before a further three goals from Hunter and Sarah Coleman, Kerry Davison and Jo Suddes strikes completed the rout.

Elsewhere, Hull City thumped Warrington Town 8-0, Bolton Wanderers grinded out a 3-1 victory over Dearne & District Ladies and Wigan Athletic snatched a 2-0 win away at Whitehaven.

There was a well fought derby match in Yorkshire, with Sheffield United Community edging out local rivals Steel City Wanderers 3-1 at the Phoenix Sports & Social Club.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Ladies, Chelmsford City, Harraby Catholic Club and Aldershot Town all progressed from a Second Qualifying Round that didn't see a single draw.
