Glossop North End reached The Final of The FA Carlsberg Vase after a nerve-jangling penalty shoot-out victory over Chalfont St Peter. The evenly matched sides drew 3-3 in the First Leg and were again inseparable at Surrey Street, with the scores finishing 2-2 at the end of extra time thanks to a dramatic equaliser from Kelvin Lugsden - the last kick of the game.
Both sides confidently scored their first five spot-kicks, but after Chalfont missed their first effort of sudden death, Rick Bailey stepped up to fire Glossop into dreamland and a day out at Wembley.
The home side had started the game well and took the lead in just the second minute through Bailey.
But they were ahead for less than half hour after Terrell Lewis equalised for Chalfont on 30 minutes.
Each team pressed forward in a scrappy second period, but neither was able to break the deadlock and the game was forced into extra-time.
Charlie Stratton looked to have sent Chalfont to The Final, after putting The Saints ahead with just nine minutes remaining on the clock.
But, in the dying moments, Lugsden found the back of the net following a goalmouth scramble, sending the tie to penalties.
And Bailey's cool head under pressure set up a Final against Whitley Bay in May.
