Colchester United proved too strong for hosts Bromley in front of a bumper crowd in The FA Cup First Round Proper, running out 4-0 winners in one of Saturday's early kick-offs.
Goals from Simon Hackney and Kayode Odejayi put Colchester 2-0 up at half-time, as 4,242 supporters packed in to Hayes Lane.
Further efforts from Clive Platt and Steven Gillespie after the restart sealed a comfortable victory for the League One side, despite a spirited performance from their Conference South hosts.
Meanwhile, Walsall edged out Stourbridge with a 1-0 victory at the War Memorial Ground in a Midlands derby.
Steve Jones’ 34th minute strike eventually proved enough for Walsall to overcome a dogged performance from the Southern Premier League side.
Jones latched on to Troy Deeney’s flick-on to fire the game’s only goal past Stourbridge goalkeeper Stuart Brock.
Nathan Bennett and Sean Evans both went close to snatching a dramatic equaliser for the non-League side, but Walsall eventually held out in front of a home crowd of 2,014.
