First Round Proper Draw
Ties to be played 7 and 8 November 2009 Winning Clubs receive £18,000 from The FA's Prize Fund
While Third Round weekend in The FA Cup has a special place in the hearts of football fans, the draw for the First Round Proper always gets the pulses racing.
And supporters up and down the country were served up a treat on Sunday lunchtime, with a string of eye-catching draws for the world's greatest knockout competition.
Teams may receive £18,000 for winning in the First Round but for many non-league teams, a place in the draw is priceless. First out the hat was League One Gillingham, who were drawn against Southend - who gave Chelsea a fright in last season's competition.
Paulton Rovers were celebrating after the part-timers were handed a home tie against three-time FA Cup Semi-Finalists Norwich, while Luton, beaten finalists 50 years ago, have a home tie against Rochdale.
Bath City, five times in the Third Round, were drawn away at Grimsby in a mouth-watering tie and Gateshead were also smiling with a home draw against Brentford. Burton Albion, who drew against Manchester United in 2006, were drawn at home to Oxford City, while Eastbourne Borough were given a major incentive to win their replay with Tooting and Mitcham as they were drawn away to Stockport.
Oldham were drawn at home to 1972 winners Leeds United in one of the glamour ties of the First Round, while League One sides Wycombe and Brighton were also paired together. Hereford United, renowned Cup fighters, were drawn at home to another giant-killer, Sutton United. United beat Coventry City in that memorable tie in 1989.
Bristol Rovers, in the League One promotion race, were drawn against 2003 finalists Southampton, who also won The Trophy in 1976.
Forest Green Rovers, who had a great run in last year's competition before they valiantly went down to Derby, were drawn against Mansfield Town and Blue Square Premier leaders Oxford United were handed a home tie against Yeovil.
Colchester United have a tricky tie away at Bromley of the Blue Square South while 2004 finalists Millwall were drawn at home against either Crawley Town or AFC Wimbledon. Stourbridge, played in the First Round for the first time in their 132-year history, will play Football League opposition in the shape of Walsall.
Wealdstone of the Ryman Premier were handed a big tie at home to League Two high-fliers Rotherham and Notts County, with Sven Goran Eriksson as director of football, will play Bradford City.
Other noteworthy ties included Hinckley United - slayers of Histon on Saturday, away at Rushden and Diamonds and League One Charlton away at Blue Square North heavyweights Northwich.
