The hugely successful Robbie Williams could be rocking at Wembley in 2006.
Robbie plans for Wembley
Wednesday, 09 November 2005.
We are delighted to announce that we are in the final stages of negotiation for a very special series of concerts at Wembley Stadium next year.
Robbie Williams, fresh from being crowned as Best Male at the 2005 MTV European Music Awards, plans to headline a series of massive music concerts at Wembley Stadium in summer 2006 which will make him one of the first acts to play the new stadium.
One of the world's most exciting entertainers, whose global album sales currently stand in excess of 40 million copies, wants to take to the world's ultimate stage as part of his hotly anticipated 2006 worldwide tour.
Playing to an audience of over 70,000 fans a night, Robbie plans to rock Wembley Stadium on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 September 2006.
This exciting news follows last month's announcement that Wembley Stadium is in final discussions with Bon Jovi, the last band to play at the old stadium, who will be taking to the stage at the new stadium on 11 June 2006.
Jim Frayling, Head of PR & Music at Wembley Stadium said: "We are delighted that Robbie Williams is set to be one of the first acts to play at the new Wembley Stadium.
"We are committed to bringing the best and most exciting music acts from around the world to the new National Stadium.
"With Bon Jovi and now Robbie Williams having already reserved dates, and discussions going well with a number of other major music acts from around the world, it's set to be a fantastic year."
We understand from the promoter that tickets will go on public sale for Robbie's concerts at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 19 November from 9am. For a full list of tour dates and locations, as well as ticketing information please visit www.robbiewilliams.com.
