Teddy Sheringham: Goal v Georgia

Teddy Sheringham heads an Alan Shearer past Georgia to give England the lead in their World Cup qualifier.

After bringing you all the latest news, views and stories from the new Wembley and offering you the chance to win a tour around the Stadium, what better way to bring our Wembley Week to a close with some action.

We've got two great goals from Wembley history for you to re-live this weekend, one England and one FA Cup.

Today we're on international duty and we remember back to 30 April 1997.

It's England v Georgia in Qualifying Group 2 for France '98 and the score is poised at 0-0 with half-time fast approaching.

Robert Lee collects the ball on the left-flank and clips in towards Alan Shearer inside the box. The captain controls with his chest before delivering a reverse cross towards the penalty spot where Teddy Sheringham arrives to power home with his head.

Shearer grabs a goal himself in the final minute of the match to give Glenn Hoddle's team a 2-0 victory.

Victories over Poland and Moldova meant that England needed just a point from their trip to Rome that October. They got it and earned their place at the World Cup Finals.
