The FA is saddened to hear of the death of Life Vice-President Jack Wiseman.
Mr Wiseman served on The FA Council for 35 years, joining in 1974. He represented the Football League from 1974 to 1986 and Division 4 from 1986 to 1994 when he was made a Life Vice-President.
He served on the International Committee for 30 years (1975-2005), the Match & Grounds Committee for 27 years (1974-2001) and the Disciplinary Committee for 12 years (1974-86). He also served on the Commercial Committee.
Jack enjoyed a 50 year association with Birmingham City FC joining the Board of Directors in 1956 and latterly serving as Vice-Chairman.
FA Vice-Chairman Sir Dave Richards said: "Jack Wiseman’s tireless work for The FA marked him out as a true stalwart of the game.
"His effort and commitment to all aspects of the running and the development of English football was recognised by colleagues throughout the game. Jack always made time for the staff and players, which earned him the trust and respect that was typical of his time at The FA.
“It was an honour and a privilege not only to have worked with Jack, but to be able to count him as a friend – his contribution to football was significant. He will be sadly missed.”
