Saracens to take on World Champions

Three more fixtures at Wembley for rugby giants.

Saracens will be back at Wembley Stadium for a prestigious game with World and Tri-Nations Champions South Africa next month before playing two further Guinness Premiership matches next year.

Tickets for the match with the Springboks are attractively priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s, and the match completes a Springbok tour schedule that includes Tests against France, Italy and Ireland and an opening match against Leicester Tigers.

Andy Marinos, acting managing director of SA Rugby, said: “We look forward to playing our full part in what will be a great evening for our players and coaches, and also the large expatriate South African community in London and south-east England.”

“This is sure to be another fantastic occasion,” said Saracens chairman Nigel Wray. “The Springboks are indisputably the No.1 team in the world at the moment, and it will be tremendous honour and a privilege for us to welcome them at Wembley.”

Peter de Villiers, Springbok coach, said: “We have enjoyed a fantastic year so far, and this match – against an in-form club team at one of the great stadiums in the world – will certainly become yet another highlight in this memorable season. Overseas tours always provide us with an opportunity to expose our emerging young talents to the international game and this will be a fantastic platform through which to do that. We expect Saracens to be tough but we also believe in the abilities of our squad.”

The Premiership leaders will also play Worcester Warriors on Saturday 13 February and Harlequins on Saturday 17 April following their game played at Wembley with Northampton Saints last month.

Wray added: “We started something special when 44,832 spectators watched us play Northampton Saints at Wembley in September, and now we are planning to build on that success.

"Once again, we will be offering a fantastic day of great rugby and great entertainment at a great stadium, all at an amazing price.”

The overwhelming majority of tickets for both matches will be priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s.

Tickets for these fixtures will go on sale soon but tickets for the South Africa game are available at www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
