Females in London are getting the opportunity to become qualified referees thanks to two courses, aimed at women, that have been organised in the capital.

The London FA are running a course at London Marathon Playing Fields in Greenwich on March 1, 8, and 15 and another course at The Hub, Regents Park on April 5, 12 and 19.

Natalie Huntley, Women and Girls Development Officer for North London said: “It is great to be able to offer females an alternative way to get involved in football, and it’s also a good way for coaches and players to expand their knowledge.”

Emma Barnes, Women and Girls Development Officer for South London added: “There are opportunities out there for females to move up the referee ladder, and it would be great to see more of them get involved, so this course is the perfect starting point.”
