Sharp has been on the International list since 1997 and is on the National List of Assistant Referees Select Group.  The keen Thai boxer and cyclist has taken the line for four matches so far this tournament, including Germany's 1-0 win over USA, but says his most memorable match to date was being appointed to the F.A. Cup Final in 1999 when Manchester United beat Newcastle United 2-0 at Wembley.

The Football Association would like to wish him well for the match which will no doubt rival that F.A. Cup final.  Sharp will take his place for World football's biggest showpiece in Yokohama on Sunday alongside Italian referee Pierluigi Collina, who was in the middle for England's one-nil win over Argentina, as well as the two recent victories over Germany in Euro 2000 (1-0) and the memorable 1-5 in Munich.
