The Stadium's official website, www.wembleystadium.com, and Wembley hotlines were bombarded with enquiries about seat availability after England's superb showing in Geneva on Saturday and Wembley are reporting seat orders to the value of £1m between 9am and 11am Monday morning.

In all, over £2m of seat orders have been placed since the final whistle in Geneva. All 160 corporate boxes have been sold and Wembley Stadium recently announced that three out of five sections of the gold and silver seats have also sold out.

A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium said: "The match has really boosted people's hopes for our World Cup team and their appetite to see top level football at the greatest stadium in the world."

Reports over the weekend suggest that over £500m has been placed with Bookmakers on England winning the World Cup.

Betfred, Wembley Stadium's Official Bookmaker, are offering odds of 7/1 on England lifting the World Cup in 2006.
