The Football Association is pleased to announce that it has concluded a sponsorship agreement with National Express Group.
As a result, National Express Group is becoming an ‘Official Supporter’ to the England team and The FA Cup, as well as ‘Official Travel Partner’ to The FA.
The deal completes The FA’s Partner Programme for the 2006 to 2010 period. The income the Programme will generate constitutes the largest sponsorship programme in The FA’s history and allows the organisation to invest increased revenues into football at all levels.
FA Chief Executive Brian Barwick commented: "We are delighted that National Express Group has come on board as an Official FA Supporter. We look forward to a long and productive relationship which will bring real benefits to traveling fans.”
A further agreement has been signed between National Express and Wembley Stadium to provide dedicated coach services from 43 towns and cities, direct to the new national stadium.
Richard Bowker, Chief Executive of National Express Group, said: “Every year around the world we help more than one billion people to get to where they want to go. We are proud to become Official Supporter to both the England team and The FA Cup as well as Official Travel Supplier to Wembley Stadium and we’re looking forward to bringing fans from all over the country directly to this fabulous new stadium.
“Whether it’s to watch the England team play or enjoy one of the events at the world’s finest stadium, National Express will be using our considerable experience of serving major events to take you right to the gates.”
National Express completes The FA’s roster of corporate sponsors – which includes blue-chip names such as Nationwide, E.ON, Umbro, Carlsberg, McDonald’s and Tesco.
Nationwide and E.ON are Lead Partners to the England team and The FA Cup respectively, whilst Umbro, Carlsberg – and now National Express – are Official Supporters to both properties.
In addition, The FA has secured Partners to all its Football Development programmes - McDonald’s (Official Community and FA Learning Partner), Nationwide (Official Disability Partner), Umbro (Official Small-Sided Partner), Carlsberg (Official Adults’ Men’s Football Partner), E.ON (Official Schools Partner) and Tesco (Official Women’s and Girls’ Partner).
