The FA today met representatives from the Newspaper Publishers' Association (NPA) regarding the issue of photographers' access to FA-owned matches.
During an extremely constructive meeting at Soho Square, The FA and NPA agreed to continue their dialogue during the close season with a view to drawing up a new agreement that satisfies the editorial, photographic and commercial need of both parties.
The NPA recognises The FA's requirement to protect its brands at FA-owned matches and, in particular, the need for both parties to reach an acceptable compromise for Wednesday's European Championship qualifying match with Slovakia.
In return, The FA has confirmed it will allow access to the match for all accredited newspapers and has been assured by the NPA that its commercial partners' logos will not be airbrushed from any images used from training sessions leading up to the match against Slovakia or the match itself.
The FA and NPA will meet again during the next month to continue their wide-ranging discussion on photographic and editorial issues and access with a view to reaching a final agreement in advance of August's FA Community Shield match between Arsenal and Manchester United.
