TheFA.com can confirm that Peter Ridsdale has today resigned from The FA's Executive Board.

The Chairman of The FA, Geoff Thompson, said "We are grateful to Peter for his excellent contribution to The FA over the last three years. We wish him every success in the future."

Mr Ridsdale's resignation will be formally acknowledged at the next FA Board meeting on 17 December 2002.
