The historic FA - CONMEBOL Co-operation Programme was launched in September 2003, when Geoff Thompson led a delegation to Paraguay to deliver workshops on Coaching Strategies and Marketing & Administration.
President Dr Leoz presented Thompson with CONMEBOL's prestigious Order of Merit for his services to South American football. 2004 workshops in Ecuador, Chile and Peru focus on Stadium Safety & Security and Tournament Organisation.
