An FA Delegation will travel to Israel this weekend to lead a conference on combating racism in football.
Executive Director David Davies, Project Manager Brendon Batson, Ethics and Sports Equity Manager Lucy Faulkner and FA Ambassador Gary Mabbutt will share the experiences of English football with the Israel FA and the New Israel Fund, an organisation dedicated to promoting tolerance within Israeli society.
David Davies said: "Football is one of the best platforms imaginable to break down barriers and change attitudes and we are delighted to have been invited to Israel to share our experiences.
"We are proud that what we have sought to do in England has been recognised and applauded internationally.
"The first and arguably most important stage is to acknowledge the problem of racism. We successfully did this in England a decade ago when the Kick It Out campaign was founded.
"A difference has been made in English football but there is still much to achieve."
Eliezer Ya’ari, Executive Director of NIF Israel, described The FA’s visit as "an important boost for all the organizations involved in combating racism in Israeli football, which reflects attitudes throughout society."
English football has been recognised by UEFA as leading the way within Europe in tackling racism.
Chief Executive Lars-Christer Olsson said: "UEFA are pleased that the Israel FA and the New Israel Fund have joined in partnership with The FA in England to organise a conference in Tel Aviv on the subject of racism.
"UEFA commends all initiatives that pro-actively address the serious problem of racism in football which threatens the spirit of Fair Play and taints football's role in society as a whole.
"The FA has campaigned with significant success against racist abuse in the English game and I have no doubt that sharing their experiences will help Israel in some measure to tackle the particular problems they face."
The FA’s commitment to combating racism in English football involves a wide range of activities. The FA supports and part-funds the Kick It Out campaign, with the England team taking part in various events to raise awareness, including a training session wearing Kick It Out shirts ahead of the Spain friendly this week.
The FA has also established a nationwide Report Racism hotline, investigates any allegations of racist behaviour within the game, has initiated education and training programmes to raise awareness and is working to ensure that that all ethnic groups are represented in the structure of football.
