But for many, the hard work continues as they go back to school for lectures and classes to make themselves better coaches.
All this week, an illustrious group is studying on The FA's highly-rated UEFA Pro Licence course at Warwick University dealing with a whole range of skills needed by the modern-day manager.
The likes of Bryan Robson, Sam Allardyce and Steve McClaren have been joined by lower league bosses, including Colchester United's Phil Parkinson
and Ian Atkins from Bristol Rovers, in the classroom to study all aspects of coaching and management such as: fitness and conditioning, dealing with the media, mental preparation and the business side of the game.
And they will ultimately be awarded the UEFA Pro Licence which is now the mandatory qualification in all the major footballing countries and which all Premiership managers must hold by 2010.
All this week here on TheFA.com we will be catching up with the managers on the course to find out just why it is so important to them and what benefits they have already felt.
We will also be speaking to FA National Coach Dick Bate who helps run the course on what he aims to provide and why it has been so successful in the past few years.
But first of all we chatted to West Bromwich Albion manager Bryan Robson. Log-on to TheFA.com later today to watch an interview with the former England captain.
