At a Regulatory Commission hearing today, Chelsea were fined £40,000 for the behaviour of their players during a match against Derby County in November 2007.

The club admitted a charge of failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

The charge related to the Chelsea players' conduct towards referee Andre Marriner following the sending-off of Michael Essien for violent conduct in the 92nd minute of the match at Pride Park on Saturday 24 November.

The Commission took into account the club's previous disciplinary record when reaching its decision to fine the club £40,000.
