Appeals rejected

At a Disciplinary Commission hearing today, Manchester City's Joey Barton had a claim for wrongful dismissal rejected and will therefore serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect.
Barton was sent off for serious foul play against Bolton Wanderers on 23 December.
West Ham United's Paul Konchesky also had his claim rejected. Konchesky was sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity at Fulham on 23 December and will serve a one-match suspension.
Preston North End's Daniele Dichio had his claim rejected and will serve a three-match suspension after being sent off for violent conduct at West Bromwich Albion on 26 December.
A claim by Southend United in relation to Efetobore Sodje's sending-off for serious foul play at Norwich City was withdrawn before the hearing. Sodje will therefore be suspended for three matches.
