Neville was charged with improper conduct in relation to his celebrations following Manchester United's goal in the 90th minute of the Premiership match against Liverpool at Old Trafford on 22 January.

At a Disciplinary Commission hearing on 21 February, the charge was found proven and he was warned as to his future conduct and fined £5,000. He subsequently appealed.
