Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness.
Souness fined
Thursday, 16 June 2005.
At an Independent Disciplinary Commission hearing on Tuesday, Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness was fined £20,000 and received a two-match touchline ban, suspended for 12 months.
All or part of this suspension will be activated if he is found guilty of a similar charge.
Souness was found to have breached FA Rule E3 for a failure to act in the best interests of the game and/or having brought the game into disrepute. He had denied the charge and did not request a personal hearing.
The charge related to post-match media comments following Newcastle United's Premier League match against Everton on 07 May 2005.
