Arsenal admit charge
Monday, 24 January 2005.
At a Disciplinary Commission last week, Arsenal Football Club admitted a charge of a breach of FA Rule E1(d) in respect of FIFA Players' Agents Regulations Article 18(1) - use of an unlicensed agent.
The club was warned as to its future conduct and fined £10,000. In addition, the club was given a suspended transfer ban.
The ban has been suspended for a period of two years from 01 February 2005 and will be activated in the event of a further proven breach of the Players' Agents Regulations before FIFA or The Football Association.
If activated, the ban will prohibit the club from any national and/or international transfers from the commencement of the next operative transfer window for the duration of that transfer window.
The case related to the negotiation of the contract of Quincy Owusu-Abeyie.
This decision has been communicated to FIFA and KNVB (Football Association of Holland).
