Manchester United's Wayne Rooney has admitted a charge of violent conduct and the associated automatic three-match suspension. The suspension will therefore start with immediate effect.

The charge relates to an incident involving Rooney and Bolton Wanderers' Tal Ben Haim during the match at Old Trafford on Sunday 26 December.

Tal Ben Haim has been charged with improper conduct for the same incident.
